INTERLINK Health Services was created in 1995 to provide specialized transplant network services for reinsurance carriers, insurance companies, self-funded employers, and other managed care clients.  INTERLINK has earned a reputation for outstanding customer service and is one of the most respected transplant networks in the nation, servicing thousands of transplants each year.  A network used at this frequency is able to form stable relationships with some of the most prominent medical centers in the world.

INTERLINK's medical staff is constantly developing new and unique methods of selecting and contracting with network preferred facilities.  Providers are selected and evaluated using some of the most comprehensive information measurement processes in the industry.  Any unusual outcomes identified during the annual or on-going review processes are investigated by INTERLINK's medical review committee.

Facility Selection and On-Going Evaluation Criteria

INTERLINK's medical staff uses a comprehensive facility selection process, which identifies the healthcare locations where great care is statistically likely to occur.  Network providers must meet and maintain standards to obtain "preferred" status in any INTERLINK specialty care network.  Some of the categories reviewed are:

• Volume of transplants annually

• Surgical team experience

• Outcome statistics, such as survival rates, retransplants, and lengths of stay

• UNOS participation

• Geographic location

• Number of years the program has been operational and total transplants

• Medicare Certification

• Case rates and lesser-of language availability

Transplant facilities have agreed to inform INTERLINK if changes occur in their programs.  A change in any category is analyzed and evaluated by INTERLINK for compliance with network standards.  INTERLINK collects and re-evaluates information annually and reserves the right to add or remove providers from the network as appropriate.
